Dr. Joginder Panesar, BVSC & AH, MVSc, DVM

Dr. Panesar was born and raised on a farm in India. He had a special interest in veterinary medicine at a young age when he watched the veterinarians treating his family’s animals.  Dr. P completed his Master’s in Veterinary Medicine in 1993 at the College of Veterinary Sciences (Punjab Agricultural University).  During his education, his research on canine transmissible tumours was published in the International Journal of Pathology.  After completing his degree he enjoyed mixed animal practice in India for 14 years.  In September of 2006, he moved to Canada to further pursue his career in veterinary medicine.  He wrote the clinical exam at the University of Guelph. In August of 2007, he achieved his Canadian license from the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.  After this time he volunteered in different clinics around the GTA before heading west, taking a veterinarian position in Alberta. However, the minus 45-degree winter weather of Alberta forced him back to Guelph in 2009. Over the last 5 years, Dr. P has enjoyed small animal practice working both as a locum in Mississauga and then partnering up to open his own small animal practice of which he has since left. This past August Dr. P opened Stonegate Animal Hospital here in Guelph. He loves Guelph city and settled here for his life.

Dr. P has special interests in dog breeding and soft tissue surgeries. He is a very dedicated and hard-working veterinarian and his priority is client satisfaction and exceptional pet care.  He could not be more proud to serve in the Guelph area to help pet parents keep their pets healthy.

Currently, he is a Guelph resident living with his loving wife and son, Bhawan, a student of U of T.  Outside of work Dr. P enjoys taking long walks and keeping up with current events in the news.
